Police Officer awarded £1.1million by Employment Tribunal. Alan Lewis comments on the case in People Management.

Alan is the sole lawyer commenting on this case in People Management in which Thames Valley Police was found to discriminate against the claimant by removing a ‘happy and creative distraction’ from her emotionally intense job.

Alan comments that employers dealing with an employee who suffers with a condition that amounts to a disability under the Equality Act, should take care that the way they treat the employee does not amount to discrimination because of something arising from the disability. He also says that any failure to adjust a procedure or process can also amount to discrimination. Read the full story and Alan's comments here.
